ADT - Australasian Digital Thesis Program

Member Information

Participant Information Form

A unique Australian initiative administered by CAUL

All CAUL members are automatically members of the ADT Program.
The purpose of this form is to confirm a member's intention to become an active contributor to the program.

Note: This form is for CAUL/CONZUL institutions preparing to contribute theses to the database. The form is not intended for individual users of the web-site, or for potential contributors of theses. If you have completed a higher degree thesis at a university in Australia or New Zealand and wish to include it in the ADT, please contact your awarding University.

In joining, (enter name of institution) undertakes to abide by the conventions and standards required for submission and/or deposit of digital theses to the ADT Program.
We understand that these conventions are necessary to maintain the integrity and quality of the distributed database.

As an active participant we undertake to fully support the standards, processes, aims and philosophy of the ADT Program. These are:

  • to extend to CAUL non-exclusive, royalty-free license to harvest, copy, host and store all or part of the member's metadata in the ADT metadata repository, to allow free access to this metadata via the web, and to allow the ADT Program to make the metadata available for international discovery purposes,
  • to establish a local program for the deposit and/or direct submission of digital theses,
  • to promote this program locally,
  • to actively engage in the university processes for the rules of submission to be changed in order
    • to accept digital versions at least as an option
    • to work towards integration of the digital program with the normal processes and procedures as prescribed locally,
  • to ensure wherever possible that the local digital theses be available for worldwide release and
  • to contribute to the maintenance of the project by sharing information, experiences and resources.

The ADT Program will make available an appropriate copy of the ADT deposit/submission software, instructions on installation and general setup support as required.
